It is an honour for The Wairoa Community Development Trust to launch the second Genesis Energy Lake to Lighthouse Challenge following on from the incredible event that was last years very successful 'first go'. It is particularly pleasing for the Trust to be able to promote this event which is not only physically challenging but also traverses some of the most stunning scenery in New Zealand. The race looks destined to be come one of multi sports 'must do events' and you can add to that the experience of our culture, friendship and camaraderie as well as great hospitality.
Our experience is the Genesis Energy Lake to Lighthouse provides a challenge for competitors and showcase's the Wairoa District. It also meets the Trust’s overarching “Object” of “implementing strategic actions to the benefit of the residents of the Wairoa District” where social, economic, cultural and environmental developments are enhanced; where a more entrepreneurial attitude amongst all residents is encouraged; and where a legacy can be left for the next generation. The Trust welcomes all competitors and support teams to the District not only for the event in November but also during the year and hopes that your experiences are enjoyable ones.
